Embraer Jets for Sale

Embraer’s Business Aviation debut came when it delivered the first Legacy 600 – a variant of its ERJ-145 regional jet – in 2002. Embraer has since developed several clean-sheet bizjet designs spanning several categories. One – the Phenom 300/300E – was the top-selling business jet for eight consecutive years between 2012 and 2019.

Embraer Executive Jets

By Gerrard Cowan - Editor, Aircraft Reviews

In two decades in the business jet market, Embraer has expanded quickly, with the Brazilian company now representing a sizeable slice of the Light Jet and Mid-Size Jet sectors.

Embraer’s Regional Jet-Derived BizJets

Embraer entered the Business Aviation market in 2000, with the launch of the Legacy 600 Super Mid-Size Jet platform. The aircraft was derived from the company’s ERJ-135 regional jet and can carry up to 13 passengers.

Powered by Rolls-Royce AE3007/A1E turbofans, the Legacy 600 features additional range (3,400nm), thanks to extra fuel tanks and winglets, and the family also includes the Legacy Shuttle, which is an ERJ-135 configured to hold 19 passengers.

Today, the Legacy 600 line is represented by the larger Legacy 650, the latest version of which – the Legacy 650E – can carry up to 14 passengers and is powered by AE3007A2 engines, with a Honeywell Primus Elite avionics suite.

However, the Legacy 600/650 isn’t the only Embraer jet derived from the OEMs commercial airliner range. The Lineage 1000 Large Jet, based on the Embraer E190 passenger jet, is an ultra-large cabin platform that may be configured for up to 19 passengers, with five distinct cabin zones. Embraer also added fuel tanks in the lower deck cargo hold, nearly doubling the range to 4,600nm.

Powered with General Electric CF34-10E7-B turbofan engines, the jet also features EVS and HUD. While the original Lineage 1000 is no longer in production, the most recent variant is the Lineage 1000E.

Clean-Sheet Design Business Jets

Embraer also has a significant presence at the Entry-Level and Light Jet markets, beginning with its first clean-sheet design business jet, the Phenom 100. The Phenom 100 is an Entry-Level Jet that carries four or five passengers usually, though it can hold up to seven occupants.

The Phenom 100 proved popular on the market, and Embraer upgraded it, first as the Phenom 100E, and then the Phenom 100EV, which incorporates the Prodigy flight deck (based on Garmin G3000 avionics), and engine thrust has been increased compared with the original model, with a pair of Pratt & Whitney PW617F1-Es installed.

Joining the Phenom 100 at the lighter end of the market is the industry best-selling Phenom 300 Light Jet, first delivered in 2009. Larger than the Phenom 100, and able to carry seven, the latest variant is the Phenom 300E. FADEC-controlled PW535E engines power this aircraft, which has a range of 2,010nm. The aircraft also features a Garmin avionics suite.

Helping to fill the gap between the Legacy 650 and the Phenom 300 sits the 3,000nm-range Legacy 450 Mid-Size Jet, which can carry up to nine passengers, and its larger variant, the 3,125nm-range Legacy 500.

This line expanded again in 2018, when the company introduced two new variants – the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600, which have longer ranges than the Legacy 450 and 500, respectively. The Praetor 600 has a range of 4,018nm with four passengers, though the aircraft can accommodate between eight and 12 passengers. The Praetor 500, meanwhile, has a range of 3,340nm with four passengers and can hold up to nine passengers (seven at standard capacity).
